Last month, FireSportUK hosted the national Festival of Fire Sport in Sheffield, bringing together a range of exciting events, including the demanding British Firefighter Challenge.
The challenge saw Firefighters from across the UK test themselves on a high-intensity course designed around key firefighting skills. Competitors hauled and rolled hoses, carried casualties, and tackled climbing elements, all while wearing full firefighting kit.
A team from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) took part in this year’s event and delivered an impressive set of performances. Among the standout results, Firefighter James Johnson secured second place in the 18–29 category, Firefighter Tim Frost finished third, and Firefighter James Sheen won the 30–34 age category.
Across both the individual and team events, every member of the group showed outstanding fitness, skill, and determination, reflecting the commitment and professionalism of our Firefighters.
Congratulations to everyone from MAWWFRS who took part, and very well done on representing the Service so strongly at such a challenging national event.
