Fire Cadets is an exciting youth engagement programme offering young people the opportunity to engage with Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) and gain credible life skills they can use in the workplace.
This week, Gorseinon Fire Cadets are celebrating a proud milestone as Cadet Ffion Wilson marks her 18th birthday and steps into a brand‑new role as a Cadet Instructor Volunteer and the timing couldn’t be better, falling during #VolunteerWeek!
Ffion first joined the cadets at 13 years old, quickly becoming a dedicated and enthusiastic member of the team. At 15, she progressed to Graduate Cadet, continuing to build her skills, confidence, and passion for the Fire and Rescue Service.
Now, transitioning into volunteering, Ffion embodies exactly what MAWWFRS Cadets and Volunteer Scheme is designed to achieve: inspiring young people, developing future talent, and creating a pathway into the Service.
Ffion’s next goal is already in sight - applying to join the On‑Call crew at Gorseinon Fire Station.
We wish Ffion a very Happy 18th Birthday and all the best of luck for her future.
